Your First Visit, Made Easy

Walking into a new office shouldn't be stressful. Here's exactly what to expect at Gateway Chiropractic in St. Louis, MO — no surprises, no runaround, just a clear plan built around you.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

We start by listening. Your first visit is your Discovery Day: you'll share your history and goals, and we'll do a thorough evaluation to find the real source of your problem — not just where it hurts. When it will genuinely add clarity, that may include Motion Study X-Rays, a positional series of still images we analyze to see how each segment moves.

Then you'll come back for your Report of Findings — where we sit down, explain what we found in plain language, and lay out an honest plan: what's wrong, how we'll fix it, how long it takes, and what it costs. It's the same evidence-first approach behind everything we do.

Simple Systems That Respect Your Time

We've cut the friction out of every visit: self-check-in, auto-check-out, a live text line to the front desk, autopay, and pre-scheduling. You spend your time getting better, not sitting in a waiting room.

What to Bring

  • A photo ID
  • Your insurance card (if you'd like us to check your coverage)
  • Any relevant imaging or records from another provider

Insurance & Payment

We're always happy to run a courtesy benefits check and see what — or whether — your insurance is willing to put toward your corrective care. We accept assignment both in- and out-of-network, so if there's coverage worth using, we'll use it.

But let's be transparent: with the way deductibles are these days, most of our patients end up self-pay anyway — they'll never meet their deductible in a year. So we don't play games with billing. We tell you the real number up front, keep pricing simple, and make it easy with autopay and pre-scheduling.

As of July 1, 2026, Missouri Medicaid (MO HealthNet) no longer covers chiropractic care for any provider in the state.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to become a patient?

No referral is needed. You can book directly online or by phone.

Will I get imaging on my first visit?

Not necessarily. We only recommend imaging when it will genuinely clarify your care, and we'll explain why before we do anything.

How long should my first visit take?

Plan for a little extra time on your first visit — your Discovery Day — so we can take a full history and a proper evaluation. You'll come back for a Report of Findings visit where we walk you through your plan, and regular visits after that are quick.
